Hello Frog Design
"The Big Leap to the Austin Pond"

The Story Begins...
So the Story began in my first year in Art School (SCAD) circa 1994. It was my first week to study design &#38; live outside of texas in Savannah, GA.

While getting to know the scad campus and library, I stumbled upon a now defunt UK design magazine called "ID". It was there i discovered frog design. In that summer issue, I came across a inspirational article written by frog that helped me understand design.

So i have always had an affection towards free thinkers &#38; good design. Frog embodies all that is good design. I'm honored to be currently working for such a company. Austin is the largest of the 15 international offices worldwide. I take pride in working with an army of like-minded independent thinkers.

About Austin
Austin has a big city vibe with a small town spirit, with equal parts social consciousness, tattoo-covered artists, and internet millionaires. It's an outdoor town, with plenty of swimming in spring-fed pools, jogging along Lady Bird Lake, or kayaking on the river. As the “Live Music Capital of the World,” the city's bars host live indie rock, jazz-funk, alt country, punk ska, Latin sambas, or any other music you can think of. “Keep Austin Weird” is the local mantra, and it seems to be working.

Verizon's FiOS DVR Manager for iPhone gets a facelift and some new features
By Richard Lawler @ Engadget.com &#124; Feb 2011

Verizon's rolled out a February 14th update to users with the FiOS DVR Manager for iPhone, who might actually be on Verizon for their phones now too. It adds support for controlling multiple DVRs, a refreshed UI to match the latest version 1.9 on set-top boxes, access for non-DVR users, and a "What's Hot" feature showing what others in your area are watching. Our friend Dave Zatz has already gone hands-on with the new version 1.5.0 and reports an improved experience with a smoother login process to boot.

Verizon FiOS DVR Manager ensures you'll never miss an episode of iCarly... 'evar'
By Joseph L. Flatley @ Engadget &#124; Dec 2010

America has spoken (at least the TV-addicted, iPhone owning segment) and the cry is being heard: they want to control their DVRs from their handset! The Verizon FiOS DVR Manager sounds pretty straightforward: set your DVR! Set parental controls! Bookmark, browse, search TV programming, and more! And all from your iPhone. Kind of makes that old iTunes-based media management system seem a little weak sauce, doesn't it? Of course, if you're out at dinner or in a meeting and you're being driven to distraction trying to remember if Ninja Assassin is a video-on-demand selection this month, you probably have much bigger problems than on-the-road DVR management. But that's none of our business. Compatible with your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad sportin' OS 3.0 or later.</description>

Verizon FiOS Mobile iPad Application : January 2011

Verizon's premiere's the new iPad-optimized FiOS Mobile app. Allowing FiOS customers with iPads to view what's hot in selected cities, view tv listings, bookmark on demand movies, and remotely control their DVRs, and use the iPad as a TV remote control.

"Verizon is pushing the boundaries of TV with innovative technology that continues to spur the industry's evolution," said Eric Bruno, vice president of product management for Verizon. "We're giving customers more control over their TV entertainment whenever and wherever they want it. Extending our FiOS Mobile app to customers using iPads gives more subscribers more ways to conveniently manage their FiOS TV services."

The app will automatically personalize options based on the tablet connected to the set-top box, with customized favorites and other preferences. Verizon says it has virtually the same functionality as the standard FiOS TV remote.

"Customers can change channels; manage parental controls; and pause, rewind and fast forward or record a TV show," the company explains. "Subscribers can also click on the video-on-demand (VOD) button and browse and search on-demand titles; or click on the FiOS TV button and jump to live TV when watching recorded programs."

This is a retail salon marketed towards 15-17 year old girls: Generation Y. In the salon called for waiting kiosk stations where girls can be entertained. The stations provided gaming, music and movie previewing. This was a very insightful + fun project, that in fact won the 2003 Texas Interactive Media Award @ SXSW, Austin Texas.
